Playing the final fantasy xi will come down to two components: missions by which the main storyline is told and FFXI Gil quest which do not progress the main story but will help you fill your own fantasy world. Missions help out in other ways besides furthering the story line ahead such as to advance in rank, access new areas, and gain new privileges. You may do FFXI Gil quests for various rewards and fame. Battles happen in the same realm that you move around in, which is a switch from most other final fantasy game where you switch in a battle realm for fights. |

The dark, gothic looks of the world of FFXI and of course all the wars and battles that made FFXI famous in the first place. Next is the unique Realm vs. Realm fighting system wherein two of every faction will battle it out. In order to defeat the rival faction, one side would have to claim each territory one by one thus going deeper and deeper into the lands of their rival until they reach the major FFXI Gil city which then they can sack, pillage and plunder. After which the whole process will reset and the cycle goes over again. What makes it similar to other MMORPGs? There is the need for money or in this case, FFXI Gil. |

Derek's FFXI Gil Mastery Guide, is one of the best FFXI Gil Guides to have become available on the internet. Derek states that he can help any FFXI player at whatever level farm close to if not more than 150 FFXI Gil an hour in FFXI. While this statement does appear to be pie in the sky for some of us, the FFXI Riches guide does a fantastic job of providing step-by-step ways to farm great amounts of FFXI Gil. |

The EVE ISK playground clearly offers more freedom but it requires you to think and be an active participant, while the theme park has taken those responsibilities away from you and you can just go with the flow. As an interesting side-note, "theme park" style MMORPGs commonly develop lines, just like real world theme parks, as players wait for monster spawns, rare items, or quest requirements. |
